The Halloween episode of her Jennifer Hudson Show will air on Monday where she played Whoopi Goldberg’s 1992 iconic character, Sister Mary Clarence. The sequel of the movie was released in the following year, and Hudson was vocal about it being her favorite.
Before her performance, she admitted that the movie helped inspire her dreams of becoming a singer, and it meant a lot to her as a little girl. Jennifer Hudson also fantasized about what it’ll look like to be in a musical like Sister Act.

She later achieved this dream in Dreamgirls where she portrayed Effie White and won an Oscar. But she still feels Whoopi Goldberg‘s Sister Act performance was the best.
The star described Whoopi’s act as spirit-filled because it felt like it takes everyone back to church. She would imagine herself being there in the choir or a part of a competition.
