Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck‘s 2021 reunion was like something straight out of a fairytale. The couple rekindled their romance after nearly two decades apart, and fans were loving it. Just one year after returning to each other’s lives, Ben and JLo were married, and it seemed that they had finally gotten the happy ending that they were denied during their first relationship in the early 2000s. However, that wasn’t the case. Just two years later, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck, and it seems that their problems started right after they exchanged vows.
Page Six reports that although Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez seemed to have a romantic reunion, things began to go downhill much earlier than fans though. In fact, sources claim that their issues started to present themselves while the couple were on their honeymoon in Lake Como, Italy.

While on their honeymoon, Lopez and Affleck were spotted out in public on several occasions. The paparazzi caught them shopping, spending time together, and even showing some PDA. However, the Batman star was reportedly very uncomfortable with all of the attention.
“He was unhappy with paparazzi following them. She is an international superstar, and he acted like it came as a surprise that they would be followed around,” the source said. “They would barely speak to each other during what was supposed to be the happiest time of their life. He sold her on him being a changed man, and that lasted a very short time,” the insider added.
Another source tells the outlet that Affleck may have rushed into his marriage with Lopez, especially since he was newly sober at the time.
“He was just getting sober … He was in a vulnerable state, and whatever their chemistry played into that … He was in this frenzied, excitable state,” the insider dished.
As time went on, Ben Affleck allegedly grew increasingly tired of Jennifer Lopez’s lifestyle. This included the constant entourage that surrounded them. He reportedly felt uncomfortable with JLo’s level of fame and no longer wanted the drama that came along with it in the peace of his own home.
Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck on August 20. The date is significant as it marked exactly two years after the couple held a formal wedding ceremony in Georgia. Meanwhile, neither Ben nor Jen have spoken publicly about their decision to end their marriage.
