Many have also slammed the star for pushing various skincare products into the market with promises of flawless skin yet having to utilize filters in the campaign. As a result, the efficacy of her JLo Beauty line has been brought into question, with most believing Jennifer Lopez never used them despite promoting the products. The star is finally addressing her critics and naysayers in an Instagram video.
Jennifer Lopez Talks Skincare With JLo Beauty Products
The clip featured Jennifer Lopez carrying out her skincare routine using JLo Beauty products. At the start of the video, Jennifer, smiling into the camera announced she felt better than ever after turning 54. She then revealed she made the video bare faced, with no makeup on. The camera panned through the room, landing on a range of JLo Beauty products lined on the dresser as she admitted she would be utilizing them in the video like she did every day. Jennifer proceeded to debunk theories questioning her product range, saying in a mocking tone,
“For anybody who’s like Jen doesn’t use her own products on her skin. I’ld call bullshit on you right now.”
After slamming the false claims, the star went in with the JLo Beauty glow serum and sunscreen. While applying the products, Jennifer Lopez revealed she began incorporating sunscreens into her skincare routine in her early twenties. She also advised fans to do the same, as beginning at a very young age helps maintain youthful glam. She quipped,
“I wear sunscreen every day since I was in my very early twenties. You should start at a very young age.”
JLo’s Natural Beauty Claims Stir Mixed Reactions
The businesswoman concluded the post by revealing she added no filter to the video, shutting down wild fan theories. She reiterated the “no filter” claims in her caption, writing,
“No filter. ALL. ME. #ThisIsMeNow at 54, glowing and happy.”
Despite taking out time to address the filter-use allegations and claims she never used her products, some fans remained unconvinced. Many pointed out that the skincare video itself had obvious signs of filter usage, making Jennifer Lopez’s claims misleading. One fan wrote,
“She looks fantastic. Younger than 54 but there is definitely a filter on that video. Or special lighting. I’ve seen other pictures of her and it looks different than this video. Not saying she doesn’t look fabulous but this is a bit misleading.”
Others came to her defense, noting that the beauty mogul always had flawless, ageless-looking skin with or without filters. Hence, she had no reason to mask her skin texture behind filters, more so, in a video walking fans through her skincare routine.
