Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s divorce has been one of the hottest topics of the summer. The couple, known as “Bennifer,” spent most of the summer apart and staying quiet about their rocky relationship. That is, until JLo filed for divorce on the two-year anniversary of their Georgia wedding. Now, rumors that the couple doesn’t have a prenup in place are roaming around the internet, and it could cause things to go from bad to worse for the pair.
According to People Magazine sources, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s split could become rather pricey. If the pair don’t have a prenup, they could be entitled to half of everything that the other made during their two-year marriage. The couple are currently working with famed celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser. However, the process could be long and drawn out if the pair can’t agree on the division of their assets.
“[Their divorce] has the potential to get ugly,” an insider dished. “There are some sticking points over financials.”

However, both Lopez and Affleck have been in this boat before. This marks the fourth divorce for JLo, who was previously married to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, and Marc Anthony. Meanwhile, Affleck formerly navigated a divorce from his first wife, Jennifer Garner.
In addition to the revenue they earned during their marriage, Ben and Jen also bought a lavish $68 million mansion in Beverly Hills. They have both moved out of the home and are currently trying to sell it amid their split.
Of course, fans can’t seem to figure out why it would be hard for the pair to simply divide whatever shared assets they have and leave the marriage with their own fortunes intact.
“Someone needs to WIN,” one person commented on the situation.
“If it’s true there was no pre-nup, that was really dumb of them, especially since they both have kids. Frankly I don’t even know why wealthy people marry, it’s so messy when they divorce,” another stated.
“In Hollywood divorce lasts longer than marriage,” a third comment read.
“When hasn’t it been ugly? Just take the money you came in with and go. Split whatever profit anything you invest in and just go,” suggested another.
“It only gets ugly if someone gets greedy,” another person pointed out.
All the while, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have not spoken publicly about their divorce. However, they have both been seen looking happy in public. There’s a chance that they’ll both want to move through the divorce quickly and get on with their lives. However, the potential for a nasty divorce battle is still on the table.
