Jessica Simpson wasn’t given an easy time on Instagram as she posed from a church while rocking a thigh-slit dress and boots last fall. Posting in September 2023, the fashion designer showed off her sensational figure in a slit dress as she promoted her best-selling Jessica Simpson Style brand, but some fans had an issue with the leggy look and church situation.
Falling under fire as fans picked apart her share, Jessica was questioned over the setting, however, it doesn’t appear that the 43-year-old has responded to the comments. Jessica even earned herself celebrity attention, with socialite Paris Hilton leaving a like.

Sitting glamorously from a wooden bench and backed by church doors and cross decor, Jessica stunned the camera as she flaunted the 100 pounds she’s dropped and modeled a stylish, earthy-toned dress.
Going high-slit at the leg while flashing some thigh, the singer and actress opted for a dark, floral-print number, one also coming a little low-cut at the chest. Simpson added in a heeled, slouchy-effect pair of gold metallic boots, here further drawing attention to her toned legs.
Told It Isn’t Right In Church
Glamming up via sunkissed makeup with plenty of bronzer, Jessica highlighted her attractive features while sporting her light locks down. The mom of three also returned for another showoff as she stood near the church doors, this time switching out her gold boots for reddish ones with a statement block heel.

“In a church? Seriously?😢” one fan replied. Echoing the thought, as they gained over 50 likes, another fan wrote: “Why…in a church?” Agreeing, a fan replied: “Exactly,” although others disagreed. Defending the singer, one user said: “Why not? It’s a building 🤷🏼♀️.”
While plenty of users left love, the church setting did manifest in a light sprinkling across the comments section. “Nice gold shoes! Not cool to have church as your background at all! It’s disrespectful,” a further fan said.
Jessica has since posted in an even leggier look, this time showing off a black minidress from her popular apparel label. Pairing her LBD with silver-studded boots late last year, the Dukes of Hazzard star wrote: “Box Car Bling.”
