Unfortunately for Swifties, Cena denied that the “Cruel Summer” singer is connected to his new film. However, he doesn’t mind the discussion. In fact, he encourages them since a real-life mystery is on brand for the movie.
I can’t think of a better way for people to get to know ‘Argylle’ — a movie where the tagline is, ‘The greater the spy, the bigger the lie’ — than with some misdirection, some spy-type deception. And I think it’s a perfect fit for this movie — the questions, the plot twists, the turns.

The singer was even featured on the official Instagram account for Chip the Cat, the adorable feline who appears in Argylle.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. According to fans, Swift has been photographed wearing a “Conway” sweatshirt, which could be a reference to Elly Conway. She has also had merchandise on her website named “Argyle.” As if that wasn’t enough, Swift has used a pseudonym before in her music that fans correctly guessed was her before she confirmed it.
So, could Cena be telling the truth about Swift, or is he just misdirecting fans? It seems the mystery surrounding Argylle continues.
