After the success of John Wick 3 taking the number one spot from Avengers: Endgame, it’s been confirmed that John Wick 4 will be dropping more shell casings in 2021.
Hide your pets, John Wick 4 is coming out on May 21st, 2021. The news came via text message saying, “You have served. You will be of service. John Wick: Chapter 4 is coming – May 21, 2021.” This is a similar texting campaign that the third installment utilized during its promotion.
Franchises like John Wick and Deadpool have become major hits with their sequels releasing in the May blockbuster season. This franchise has grown in success with each entry with the original making over three times its budget with $90 million.
The second film grossed over $172 million and John Wick 3 raked in the lifetime gross of the original in one weekend, so it is no surprise a sequel got announced.
Wick on Every Screen
On top of future films, there’s a television series called The Continental being developed for Starz. The show revolves around the hotel for assassins and its inhabitants. The cast is going to be previous a mix of faces from the films and new characters for the show.
After dropping some Fortnite and Payday 2 content, John Wick has his own video game releasing later this year. It’s a strategy game in the same vein as X-COM and will arrive on both consoles and PC.
There is no official synopsis for John Wick 4 as of yet. Although, it is probably about the hitman going to war with High Table after the cliffhanger ending of the last film.
