Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: An Eccentric Soundtrack for an Eccentric Show
Hirohiko Araki’s Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure manga series was originally published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. In 2012, David Productions finally adapted the story into an anime series, starting with the first arc, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood. As of now, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean premiered as the most-watched title on Netflix among Japanese viewers and the sixth most amongst viewers in the United States. Netflix debuted the first 12 episodes of the anime on December 1st, 2021. The series also aired on television in January.
The story begins in the late 19th century with Jonathan Joestar, the first JoJo. He confronts the cunning and immortal vampire, Dio Brando, who becomes his adoptive brother and later his greatest enemy. The battle between Jonathan and Dio sets the stage for a multi-generational conflict that continues throughout the series.
Currently, Crunchyroll and Netflix are streaming the entirety of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.
