Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan is getting its own live-action adaptation. The source material will be the series of spin-off manga one-shots by JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure creator Hirohiko Araki. The three episodes will premiere on Japan’s NHK-G channel from the 28 to the 30 of December. The first visual teaser showed Issei Takahashi, who will play the main role of Rohan Kishibe.
The Cast of the Jojo’s Spin-off
- Marie Iitoyo as Kyoka Izumi (Rohan’s editor)
- Fuuga Shibazaki as Ikkyu (A butler in Millionaire Village)
- Mirai Moriyama as Juugo Shishi (Rohan’s associate)
- Kumi Takiuchi as Mai Katahira
- Tomoya Nakamura as Tarou Hirai (Izumi’s cameraman)
The first episode of this Jojo’s spin-off will be adapting the Millionaire Village story. The chapter follows Rohan and Izumi as they navigate a strange, etiquette-obsessed village. The second episode willbe based on Ballad Kitaguni’s short story Kushagara. In Kitaguni’s story, Rohan receives a peculiar request from a fellow mangaka, Juugo Shishi. The third and final episode will be on the manga chapter D.N.A. The manga spin-off follows Rohan Kishibe, a dedicated mangaka who gains inspiration from the bizarre (I’m sorry.) situations that he often finds himself in. He considers “reality” as a great source of authentic material for his work.
JoJo’s anime studio, David Production, had previously adapted two Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan stories as OVAs: Millionaire Village and Mutsukabe Hill. Earlier this year, a premium Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan DVD/Blu-ray OVA set was announced. Two of the OVAs, The Run, and The Confessional were toured around Japan. However, future dates were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as was the case with many other events in 2020. Are you looking forward to watching this new miniseries?
