Julianne Moore made her foray into Hollywood with a series of television roles. From 1985 to 1988, she starred in the soap opera “As The World Turns,” where she portrayed the role of good-and-evil twins.
Moore went on to earn a Daytime Emmy Award for her performance in 1988. She cut her teeth further in Hollywood while playing a number of small roles in movies such as 1992’s “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle” and the 1993 film “The Fugitive.” Julianne Moore’s 40-year Hollywood career has seen her rise to become one of the most celebrated actresses of her generation.
During that time, she earned several awards, including an Oscar for Best Actress for her portrayal of an Alzheimer’s patient in the 2014 film “Still Alice.”

During an interview in the latest issue of PEOPLE magazine, Moore claimed she could not believe she had been working for so long in the industry. In her words:
“I look back, and I’m like, ‘I can’t believe I’ve actually been doing this for this length of time.’ I’ve had good fortune.”
