Just Die Already, an ‘old people mayhem sandbox’ from the folks at DoubleMoose Games and Goat Simulator designer Armin Ibrisagic, is out today. The game is as over-the-top and wacky as it sounds. True to the now-established physics-based sandbox genre, expect absurd, ridiculous madness at every turn. Today’s Just Die Already release sees the game land simultaneously on PC and console.
While Just Die Already doesn’t necessarily need a premise, DoubleMoose Games has kindly pieced together a little backstory explaining why the elderly have gone feral:
Just Die Already tells the tale of old folk who have just been kicked out of their retirement homes, competing with each other to secure a sweet spot somewhere new by performing dangerous challenges to qualify for free care. Players can either take on Just Die Already alone or compete in four-player online multiplayer, ticking off dangerous challenges that put your life – and, indeed, every atom of your being – in danger.”
Words are one thing, but when it comes to physics-based games, nothing beats visuals to get a sense of what’s in store. Find the brand spanking new Just Die Already launch trailer just below.
Just Die Already PvP Mode Arrives in June
Today’s launch also coincides with news that DoubleMoose Games is hard at work on the first free post-launch update for Just Die Already. In June, the physics sandbox will land its very own PvP mode. Players can link up with friends to take part in head-to-head PvP across four new arenas.
As is often the case with fresh releases, you can pick Just Die Already on Steam for 20% off as part of a special launch day promo. The discount gets slashed on May 25, though, so don’t linger if your interest is piqued.
Once again, Just Die Already releases today on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store (one way to put that Mega Sale voucher to good use), PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and
