Two episodes from Season 2 of House of Villains have aired, and it’s already a hit among reality TV fans. In case you’re unfamiliar with the show, it brings together some of the genre’s biggest villains to compete for $200,000. Among the cast are Real Housewives stars, Big Brother greats, The Challenge legends, and RuPaul’s Drag Race icons, including Kandy Muse.
Kandy, who was RuPaul’s Season 8 runner-up, is the first drag queen to compete on the show. “To be the first [drag queen] on House of Villains is incredible,” she told People. “It makes me so happy,” she continued, saying being part of the cast introduces her to “the mainstream, straight media.”
Kandy continued, saying that even though Drag Race is popular in the queer community, House of Villains is a “completely different ballpark.” She added: “Queer voices and queer stories need to be heard.”
How Did Kandy Get Along With Her House of Villains Co-Stars?
As Season 2 of Villains began, Kandy Muse said she knew her co-stars might “be a little uncomfortable” with her. However, the Drag Race icon implied that she was “lucky” to have a positive experience.
“I don’t think anyone’s been around a drag queen the way they were in this house,” she said. “Everyone was just so intrigued and so loving it, so it’s incredible.”
Kandy’s co-stars aren’t the only ones who have been loving her performance on House of Villains. After the reality star won the show’s redemption challenge in Episode 2 to save herself from elimination, she made it clear that she was there to play, and fans have been loving it.
“Love her to not, Kandy Muse really is made for reality TV,” one watcher wrote on X. “Kandy really delivered that line,” another fan commented. “It’s moments like these that make reality TV so entertaining.”
Although there are still a handful of episodes left in the season, based on the trailer and sneak peeks, it’s clear things get heated down the line. “This is NOTHING compared to what I did on House of Villains,” Kandy wrote on X in response to one of her viral scenes from Drag Race.
