Following his ban from Twitter over anti-Semitic tweets, Kanye West made an explosive return to the platform, with a stream of rants, and the announcement of his verbal fast, which has spurred a media frenzy. The rapper, who has made headlines in recent times for all the wrong reasons marked his return by tweeting a caption-less photo of controversial Brooklyn Nets basketball player Kyrie Irving.
The post sparked outrage among fans, who believed identifying with the likes of the athlete, who recently faced backlash for promoting antisemitism, ultimately made him anti-Semite. However, Kanye implied in another tweet that he could not be termed anti-Semitic if he identified as Semite. Again this claim sparked online debate, with most netizens slamming him while others came to his defense. But that was hardly the last of the rapper’s explosive tweets.
Kanye West Embarks On Verbal Fast Following Twitter Return
Minutes earlier, Kanye West shared a tweet, stating his intentions to embark on a verbal fast for the next 30 days just hours after his return to Twitter. The rapper claimed he would abstain from alcohol, adult films and sex, throughout the exercise, as a form of cleansing. He however added in a foot note that “his Twitter was still lit.”
Sure enough, the tweet stirred mixed reactions among fans. While most urged him on, others condemned him for even believing he could pull it off. One person tweeted:
“Can you go away forever. You’re annoying.”

Another user agreed, urging Kanye West to keep up his verbal fast forever. Meanwhile, a fan took to Twitter to show their support for the rap mogul, who recently lost his billionaire status after losing several endorsement deals thanks to his latest scandals, saying:
“I love you forever. Take all the time you need, we’ll be here and welcome you back with open arms. God bless you.”
Despite the media backlash since his return the star followed up with more Twitter rants, including posts about always standing for the truth and threats to his kids. He also called out personal trainer Harley Pasternak, Jamie Salter and Amar’e Stoudemire among others for allegedly choosing business alignments over “truth.”
Kanye West has kept his social media meltdown going for a longtime, even before his Twitter return. Previously, he made disturbing allegations against the likes of his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, her mom, Kris Jenner, and even model Gigi Hadid on Instagram. His ranting session led many brandsto cut ties with him before his Instagram account was reportedly restricted. However, with his return to Twitter in the wake of Elon Musk take-over and promotion of free-speech on the platform, it appears his days of ranting are far from over.
