Imagine being a loving dog parent, then some fool starts acting rude and making false damaging statements on your pet ownership skills. It happened to a man in New York and, luckily, a neighbor came to his rescue. The whacky part is this “Karen” is a dog walker and she has the gall to fat shame someone else’s pup. Well, this interaction has started a feud now, with this Karen’s behavior on full display.
TikToker and dog walker Cynthiainnyc posted a series of videos, one of which was the confrontation with the Karen and her neighbor. The initial altercation starts with the Karen holding up her phone and recording the neighbor and his dog. She says to the man, “Take your obese dog to the VET,” in a loud and condescending tone. You can hear the dog breathing in the background as he walks away from her and she taunts him, “Run away, run away.”
This is when Cynthia, also recording, comes in to the rescue. She tells the Karen, “He’s one of my neighbors; he takes care of his dog really well.” While she’s explaining this, the Karen interrupts her by saying, “I’m a dog walker” and tells her, “That’s not how you take care of a dog.” Cynthia tells her, “He has a stroller for that dog, he takes that dog on walks.” However, the Karen keeps saying she doesn’t care to hear about it and thinks the dog is overweight and a victim of animal abuse.
Cynthia defends herself and the others around the area with, “This is a great neighborhood. We’re a great neighborhood.” The Karen disagrees and fights back, “Is it? I don’t f*****g think so.” Cynthia tries to tell her she won’t just back down and walk away. After all, the lady is in front of her house creating problems. However, she continues to stand there; in fact, they argue back and forth for several minutes. The Karen explains she called the police and she’s waiting for them to arrive.
However, Cynthia confirms in her later videos the police never showed up, so she called her bluff. It’s also pretty funny the Karen isn’t aware of Cynthia’s nearly 15 years of dog walking herself. She’d make a good detective too, because she managed to find out the Karen’s actual name is Karen. What are the odds?
Viewers reacted the same way I did: with laughter. Karen’s silly reaction is all it takes. One person asked in disbelief, “She called the police on a fat dog??????” Another person pointed out, “If she’s a dog walker I wonder if the pup parents know how much danger she puts their pups in by confronting strangers with their pups by her side.” Maybe being put on blast will scare away customers!
