Another opportunity for a reunion presented itself this year as Prince Harry was set to commence his high-profile legal battle against Newsgroup Newspapers in the United Kingdom. However, both parties eventually settled the lawsuit, averting the highly-anticipated lengthy trial. As a result, the prospects of Prince Harry touching down in the UK for a court appearance were shelved, to the disappointment of many.
Kate Middleton Postpone Plans to Meet With Prince Harry
A source has claimed that like most royal observers who anticipated the 40-year-old’s UK court battle, the princess of Wales also ended up disappointed. According to the source, Kate Middleton had been looking forward to Prince Harry’s UK return in the hopes of staging a royal reunion. With the exiled Prince failing to make the UK trip as expected, the Princess reportedly had to put off her reunion plans until sometime in the future. The source told Heat Magazine,
“The sit-down they were going to have is postponed indefinitely.”
Additionally, the source revealed that while her royal reconciliation efforts did not work out as planned, Kate Middleton remained unwilling to give up on Prince Harry so easily, especially in the wake of the scathing Vanity Fair takedown. While the mom of three understood how hurtful it felt to have “people draw false conclusions about things,” she wanted Harry to open up to her on his own terms, without meddling in his marriage. The source added,
“She knows how sensitive and proud he is, and rightly so, over all aspects of his marriage and children.”
Kate Unwilling to Give Up on Exiled Prince
With the reunion not happening anytime soon, Kate Middleton understood that trying to get through to Prince Harry over the phone was insensitive, and certainly not an option. Hence, she could only hope the Duke of Sussex was faring well, contrary to the details flying around the media. The source divulged,
“The best she can do at this point is hope the rumours aren’t true. She wants Harry to be happy and settled first and foremost, but be there for him if he ever does want to come to her for advice. Kate’s made it very clear to Harry that her door is always wide open.”
Above all, Kate Middleton hoped to someday facilitate a reconcilliation between Prince Harry and her husband Prince William. The source explained that the Princess of Wales had no intention of giving up on Harry even if other royals have long done so. She remained committed to being there for him no matter what. The source also hinted at Kate’s possible trip to the United States, where she could “meet up” with Harry, calling it “the most likely scenario right now.” Hence, unless Kate Middleton indeed makes her way down to America, or somehow Prince Harry snags another chance to visit the UK, a royal reconciliation just might linger for far much longer.
