Kate Upton had Instagram rushing to hit “like” as she updated in a slinky backless dress earlier this year. In May, the 32-year-old model hit up a high-profile bash hosted by the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine she’s so well-known for, and it was a classy affair as she slipped her curves into a skintight blue look.
While Kate’s Instagram followers showered her with love, users elsewhere weren’t so sure. The swanky soiree, which also hosted SI Swimsuit faces including Christie Brinkley and Brooks Nader, was covered by The Daily Mail, and it was here that some wondered if Kate should have picked a different dress.
Kate Upton Turns Heads In Slinky Dress On Instagram
Covering up, but also showing some skin, Kate wowed in a floor-length, flowing blue dress with a slight sparkle to the metallic fabrics. Highlighting her toned back as she rocked long sleeves, the blonde bombshell drew the eye to her famous waistline, showcasing her curves tastefully, but opting out of her usual busty finish.
Ditching the bra as her clingy dress flattered her enviable frame, Kate kept glam with large diamond earrings to match her ring jewelry.
Showing off her blue eyes as she sported her blonde locks down, Kate wore a warming face of foundation under blush, with the latter bringing out her high cheekbones. In an Instagram caption, the mom of one wrote: “Last night of @si_swimsuit celebrations with my date @yutsai88.”
Comments About Dress Being An ‘Ill Fit’
While the post earned Kate over 53,000 likes and even garnered a like from gymnast and SI Swimsuit face Olivia Dunne, users on The Daily Mail had different opinions.
“I have always found Kate Upton very pretty but that dress is horrible,” one user replied, gaining likes. Over 400 fans, meanwhile, upvoted a reply stating that Upton’s “dress is not a good fit.”
“Totally agree. That dress does not flatter her in the least,” a further fan stated. Noting the no-bra finish, a separate user stated: “Never underestimate the use and power of proper undergarments.”
Kate may have been critiqued for her look, but the star is having the last laugh as her fame continues to sky-rocket. May marked Kate fronting SI Swimsuit for its 60th anniversary edition. The curvy beauty made her debut with the iconic magazine back in 2011. The 60th anniversary celebrations also brought back legendary faces including Chrissy Teigen and Tyra Banks, and Kate has even revealed that she didn’t have long to get into shape for the shoot.
