Like the rest of who saw Titanic, it appears that actress Kate Winslet (Rose) also believes Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) could have survived at the end of the movie. While this has always been the butt of a joke for many people, it turns out even the leading lady of the blockbuster film believes that the door clearly had room for two. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, he purposed the idea of Jack living, stating, “People were very excited to see you sitting next to, our near, Leonardo DiCaprio at the show (SAG Awards). Even though in a way you let him freeze to death in the water.” To which Kate Winslet responds, “No, I agree. I actually think he could have fitted on that bit of door.” Watch the full interview with Kate Winslet below!

This idea has also been tackled by the Discovery Channel show Mythbusters back in 2012. The deduced that it was not only possible for Jack to fit on the door, but agreed that “Jack’s death was needless.” Kate Winslet also whipped up a frenzy from her fans when she was recently spotted with former cast member Leonardo DiCaprio. She went on during the interview, commenting ‘People are always so excited to see Leo and myself in the same space, which, you know, at the end of the day, that’s so lovely, isn’t it? It’s been 20 years, and people still get such a kick out of it. It’s really quite endearing.” See? Next time you’re surrounded by the debris of a sinking ship, just find a door!
