Kate Winslet and HBO meet again for a limited series by adapting Hernan Diaz’s bestselling novel Trust, as reported by Variety. Diaz and Winslet will executive produce, with the actress starring in it. A writer is currently being searched for to pen the show.
The story follows a financier who reads a novel based on his and his wife’s lives. He is unhappy with the portrayal of himself and his wife, so he hired a ghostwriter to set the record straight. However, the writer then grows uncomfortable as he starts directing her to rewrite history, especially regarding the portrayal of his wife.
Other details over the Kate Winslet HBO limited series are under wraps as it is still in the early stages.
Kate Winslet’s HBO limited series Trust moves ahead
Kate Winslet won an Emmy for her role in the HBO limited series Mare of Easttown for Best Actress in a Limited Series. Previously under the platform, she won an Emmy in the same category in 2011 for the series Mildred Pierce. She had been nominated for an Oscar for Titanic, Iris, and Little Children. She then won in 2009 for her performance in The Reader.
Leading up to Kate Winslet starring in the HBO limited series, she has plenty of big-screen projects. Later in the year, the actress will star in Avatar: The Way of Water. Next year, she will lend her voice to the animated film Naya Legend of the Golden Dolphin. She is signed up to lead the biopic Lee, based on photographer Elizabeth ‘Lee’ Miller. Finally, she will star in another real-life drama with Fake!.
Trust was published on May 3rd, 2022, to positive reviews. Diaz’s first novel, In the Distance, was nominated for a Pulitzer. PEN/Faulkner Award. She has also received Guggenheim Fellowship, a Whiting Award, and fellowships from the New York Public Library’s Cullman Center and The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center.
