After months of speculation about their relationship, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have finally called it quits. They were together for nine years and engaged for six. Although fans had hoped they would eventually marry, the couple ultimately decided they just weren’t meant to be. Their split has reportedly hit the pop star hard, especially now that she’ll have to raise their daughter as a single mom.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Are Over
According to People, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s breakup is one more problem the singer didn’t need in her life. She’s already had a lot on her plate this year with her Lifetimes world tour, which has been highly criticized since its start in April. Not to mention, Perry has received tons of backlash for her recent trip to space. To make matters worse, Perry is now stressing out about how she’ll adjust to being single again. While she’s already endured one divorce years ago, this time things are different with a child involved.
Perry and Bloom share a four-year-old daughter named Daisy Dove. A source told the outlet that Perry “never saw herself being a single mom.” She had always envisioned the couple raising their daughter under one roof together. Although she and Bloom will likely continue to coparent their child like many other divorced celebrity couples, their family will never be the same moving forward, which has been a hard pill to swallow for Perry. “It’s been a lot of her,” the insider said. Despite everything going on in her life, Perry remains strong. “She’s still doing great though,” the source added.
They’re Already Living Different Lives
Currently, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are off doing their own things. The “Dark Horse” singer is in the middle of her Lifetimes tour. The trek, which marks Perry’s first concert run in seven years, kicked off in April with five shows in Mexico. After performing throughout the U.S. in May, Perry has since been busy with the Australian leg of her tour. She’ll wrap up her trip down under with four back-to-back concerts in Adelaide on June 26, 27, 29, and 30. Afterward, she’ll return to North America for more performances in the U.S. and Canada before taking her tour to Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
As for the Lord of the Rings star, Bloom has recently been making headlines for his new friendship with Jeff Bezos. He appeared to have connected with the billionaire earlier this year when Perry took part in Bezos’ Blue Origin flight, which his soon-to-be wife, Lauren Sรกnchez, also participated in. It’s unclear exactly how close Bloom and Bezos are, however, they’re close enough that the actor scored an invite to Bezos and Sรกnchez’s wedding.
The pair are celebrating their nuptials this week with a three-day celebration from June 26 to June 28. Despite being friends with Bezos and Sรกnchez, Perry is not expected to attend the festivities due to her tour schedule.
