Katy Perry was spotted grabbing some essentials at CVS this month, making instant headlines for her family display. Hitting up a pharmacy in Santa Barbara, CA, the singer showed off a casual look as she stepped out in ’80s sportswear, but fan talk was also of her being accompanied by fiance Orlando Bloom and daughter Daisy, 4.
Ditching the dolled-up dress look she wore for her “English Rose era” Instagram post last month (seen above), Katy couldn’t have looked more relaxed. However, some seeing the paparazzi photos wondered if she hadn’t made enough effort. When one user reacted, they shamed Katy for her outfit, saying that both the “Woman’s World” hitmaker and her actor beau looked like “hobos.”

Spotted exiting the store and heading into the parking lot, Katy looked every inch the trendy mom while rocking a pale blue jogger set with a long-sleeved jacket. Covering up her curves and somewhat concealing her headline-making weight loss, the 40-year-old looked ready to hit the gym, although she’d added a twist via her metallic Birkenstock sandals.
Adding a baseball cap and shades as she went a little incognito, Kate kept her head down mostly, opting out of any glamorous waving. She was seen with long-term fiance, Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando, plus the couple’s daughter. Both Katy and Orlando also wore their phones on fabric necklaces around their necks, something that some fans found bizarre.
Not Her Usual Look
The Daily Mail‘s photos quickly racked up comments. Over 50 users agreed when one fan asked: “Why are they dressed like hobos?“
In a snarky reply noting Katy’s penchant for revealing outfits, another said: “At least she covered up for a change.” Katy is known for her racy looks, but likewise for more toned-down ones, particularly when out with daughter Daisy. Fans did, however, see her in an array of bathing suits last summer as she enjoyed a family vacation in St.Tropez, France. Summer 2024 also marked Katy’s music comeback as she released her “Woman’s World” track last July.
Hating on Katy, a further user said: “She never seems very motherly.” Fans would likely disagree, especially given that Daisy sings on one of her mother’s new 143 album tracks. Katy’s comeback extended with the release of her latest EP last September, although the comeback itself was deemed a flop by most.
