Taylor Swift has divided fans over a stylish evening outfit as she shows off her fashion sense and her figure. The singer, 35, stepped out for dinner with her parents in New York City ahead of the weekend, immediately attracting paparazzi attention as she modeled another trendy look.
Showing off her thigh-highs game in the wake of her December 2024 NYC outfit, seen above, Taylor upped her designer game in an expensive ensemble, spending over $2,000 on her boots alone. Fan reactions proved mixed, though, with one user telling the “Cardigan” singer that her footwear was “tacky.”

Modeling a thigh-skimming black blazer dress as she channeled night-time chic, Taylor stunned in her leggy look, adding pops of gold from waist detailing. The chart-topping artist rocked chain accents on her Area look, accessorizing it with a massive pair of black leather boots rising to her thighs.
Wearing Chanel logo drop earrings as she shouted out the iconic French fashion brand, Taylor stuck to her signature red lipstick finish, also wearing a full face of warming makeup complete with foundation and rosy blush. She sported her light locks down, completing her outfit with a black-and-gold Jimmy Choo purse retailing for $1,750. Swift has been steadily upping her designer game and made 2024 headlines for a string of Gucci looks, largely worn during high-profile date nights with NFL player boyfriend Travis Kelce.
Warned The Boots Are ‘Trashy’
Users on The Daily Mail quickly reacted to the photos, which saw Swift smiling as she took her parents for dinner at the celebrity-adored Nobu restaurant.
Sending the thumbs-down, one fan said: “Drop the red lipstick and hire a stylist. She always looks like she picks her outfits from someone else’s closet.” Another, meanwhile, told Swift to lose the thigh boots, stating that they were “tacky.”
Fortunately, feedback was far more positive on Just Jared as it updated its Instagram with photos from Taylor’s night out. Here, users raved over the Grammy winner’s style, saying she’s never looked better and calling her “absolutely stunning.” Many users here also gushed over Taylor spending quality time with her folks.
Taylor made endless headlines in 2024 for her The Eras Tour, but largely for her ongoing romance with boyfriend Travis. The two have even sparked baby fever rumors, although neither Travis nor Taylor has confirmed a pregnancy. Fans are, however, eagerly awaiting an engagement announcement. Last year also saw Taylor release her The Tortured Poets Department album, which immediately topped the charts.
