Katy Perry had fans questioning her style after her Harrods shopping trip went viral last month. At the end of July, the 39-year-old was spotted exiting the luxury, London, U.K. store, and it looks like her decision to don a red pair of bike shorts received the thumbs-down.
Stepping out shortly after the July 11 release of her “Woman’s World” comeback single, Katy had fans saying that she lacked “class,” with the sporty outfit deemed ill-fitting for an establishment as fancy as Harrods. The outing also made headlines for seeing Katy accompanied by actor fiance Orlando Bloom, plus the couple’s daughter Daisy, 3.
Katy Perry’s Shorts Style Raises Eyebrows In London Photos
Looking casual in photos circulated by The Daily Mail, Katy highlighted her recent weight loss in a gym-ready look.
Displaying her toned legs, the former American Idol judge rocked a bright red pair of tight shorts, adding pops of orange from a stripe, plus a relaxed gray sweatshirt. Keeping a little incognito in dark shades, Katy added a white baseball cap as she wore a black fanny pack across her chest, completing her outfit with bangles, socks, and sneakers.
Slinging a dark green Harrods bag over one shoulder, Katy hinted at her purchases from the iconic department store, with fans also seeing Daisy near her mother and on a scooter. Meanwhile, Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando kept casual in faded, baggy jeans and a lightweight t-shirt.
Fans Think Her Look Has No ‘Class’
Comments came in fast. Slamming Katy’s outfit choice, one user wrote: “Wearing sports gear to Harrods, couldn’t she have got changed? No class or decorum.”
Another, meanwhile, said that it was “not a good look,” with a separate user agreeing, although this fan also threw daggers at Orlando. “Not a great look, and Orlando’s is no better,” they wrote.
Katy was also called “basic,” although with her $400 million net worth, fans would likely agree that her budget is anything but. Also querying Katy’s style was a fan responding: “Who goes to Harrod’s dressed like that? Have some class.”
Katy’s headlines are all over the place right now. Having sparked worldwide outrage with her decision to employ Dr. Luke to produce her comeback record, Katy has also been subject to hate over “Woman’s World,” a track that’s touted as being empowering but so far seeing fans thinking it’s the opposite.
Katy has been slammed for objectifying women in her scantily-clad music video, and there’s been fresh trouble since. After filming a new music video on a protected beach, Katy is now under investigation for shooting in a wilderness area without having asked permission.
