Kelly Clarkson is on “The Voice” for the ninth season and is excited about her favorite rehearsal yet. The “American Idol” winner turned judge of one of the competitive singing shows has won it four times. But this week’s rehearsal opened her up to a unique experience—something she only witnessed for the first time.
Kelly Clarkson has already joined the list of long-time judges on “The Voice.” Taking the lead is country music icon Blake Shelton who has been there for quite some time. But there is never a dull moment with the old or new judges. This includes Chance the Rapper and Niall from the dysfunctional boy band, “One Direction.”
The ninth season is already coming to a close, and the competition has grown more intense. As they entered into the final week, judges began pairing two singers from their camp. The aim is to select the best from the pair in battle rounds.
Clarkson has had one of the most intriguing playoffs by pitching two of her incredible contestants. ALI and D. Smooth from her team were paired because of their soulful singing. During rehearsals, their rendition of Allen Stone’s “Unaware” brought tears to their coach’s eyes. Performing got even more tricky, as they delivered a world-class performance commanding a standing ovation.
Amid being teary-eyed over ALI and D. Smooth’s rehearsal, Kelly Clarkson’s favorite rehearsal was a different one. It was not the one that brought tears to her eyes, but hearing powerful and resounding female voices.

Kelly Clarkson’s Favorite Rehearsal Was The Playoff Between Two Strong Female Singers
“The Voice” Kelly Clarkson coached country crooner Holly Brand and folk-pop singer Katie Beth Forakis. On Monday night, both ladies engaged in a battle singing “Lady Like” by Ingrid Andress. Clarkson did not hide her awe for the duo. She confessed that pairing them fed her curiosity to hear them sing together.
When describing her ladies, she said:
“Holly is a powerhouse female country singer. … She has a very full, big voice. Katie Beth has this really cool thing about her, these incredible runs that she does. She goes to these places that are almost jazz-like.”
Despite being different and masters of their genres, their notes were rather harmonious. During the rehearsals, Clarkson advised them on maintaining a more impressive pitch. The judge and coach also enjoyed teaching the women. About the rehearsal, she said, it was the “favorite rehearsal I think I’ve ever experienced,” on the show.
During their battle to continue for a spot in the competition, Holly and Katie made different impressions on the judges. But at the end of the day, Clarkson picked Holly.
