Kelly Clarkson isn’t having her show’s recent likening to a toxic workplace. The Kelly Clarkson Show recently made headlines for all the wrong reasons after anonymous past and current employees accused the production of providing a toxic environment to the staff. While these allegations claimed producers on the show contributed to making the workplace hostile, they described Kelly as fantastic. Nonetheless, the show host has faced the brunt of fans’ outrage along with the hostile producers. Many believe her equally as guilty for not caring enough about her staffers to realize just how unhappy they were.
Kelly Addresses Staffers Claims
Amid the backlash from fans following allegations that the show had toxic work conditions, Clarkson has stepped forward to clear the air. The 41-year-old took to Instagram to address the allegations, which she described as unacceptable. She began by stating how she has always led with her heart throughout her 20 years in the industry. The show host proceeded to explain how much she loved her team at The Kelly Clarkson Show. Hence, finding out anyone felt disrespected and “unheard” isn’t something she was willing to accept. She continued,
“I have always been and will continue to be committed to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment at the Kelly Clarkson show.”
Going further, Kelly Clarkson referenced the show’s anticipated relocation from Los Angeles to New York. As they embarked on the move, she would ensure it wasn’t just a success, but the new team in NY would boast of “the best and kindest in the business.”
Kelly Clarksons Takes Corrective Measures Following Toxic Workplace Allegations
After expressing displeasure over the alleged toxic workplace, Kelly Clarkson reassured fans she would take corrective measures. Part of the measures she hoped to put in place is providing mandatory leadership training for herself and all the senior staff. According to her, she believed there was always room for growth, and for everyone to become the best version of themselves in any business. That way, she could ensure the eradication of “any notion of toxicity.”
Following her statement, many fans took to the comment section to commend the show host for acknowledging the complaints from her staff. Many were impressed by her quick response, and willingness to do the needful in abating the toxic situation. Among the allegations leveled by about nine former employees and one present employee was that the show underpaid workers, and the treatment received in the hostile environment affected their mental health. One complainant also namedropped an executive producer, Alex Duda, tagging her as a monster.
Shortly after the claims hit the tabloids, a representative of the show released a statement to People, pushing back at the allegations. In the statement, they insisted they ensured a safe and respectful workplace for everyone. Any claims portraying them otherwise were untrue. With these accusers remaining anonymous, little could be done to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to their terrible experience on the show or verify the claims.
