According to a scoop published by Rolling Stone on Friday, several producers on The Kelly Clarkson Show have been accused. In addition, these people have been accused of creating a toxic work environment for the staffers. The outlet revealed that it spoke with one current and ten former employees at the NBC daytime show.
The employees who were spoken to, both past and present, remained anonymous but were described by the outlet as “veterans in the entertainment industry.” Some producers on the show have been accused of creating a toxic workplace for staffers. However, the show’s host, Kelly Clarkson, is described as “fantastic.”
A former employee revealed that Clarkson has no idea how “unhappy” her staff is. Another employee told the outlet that Clarkson treats everyone with nothing but dignity and is highly appreciative. A third former employee explained they would be surprised if Clarkson knew the staff did not get paid for two weeks of Christmas hiatus.
Details of The Accusations
One of the allegations that were lobbied against the production by the staffers was that they were overworked and underpaid. The staffers also complained that their mental health suffered as a result of working on the show.
A staff member of the production revealed that they had worked on several different sets in the entertainment industry. Therefore, they explained that their experience with The Kelly Clarkson Show had topped the worst working experience. The staff further revealed that the experience deterred them from ever wanting to work in daytime again.
Several employees revealed to Rolling Stone that their complaints had been filed with human resources. However, action has yet to be taken to correct the situation.
