Yes, you read that right! 90s’ babies rejoice, as one of the most beloved comedy duos of a generation will be reuniting on the revival of a beloved television and game show from the same era, Double Dare.
Earlier this week EW revealed that Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell will star and compete in a very special episode of the newly revived competitive game show Double Dare.
“I am so excited to be playing on Double Dare and for whole new generation of kids to experience this iconic game show,” says Mitchell. “This episode will be double special because Kenan and I will be playing against each other and we are both huge fans of Double Dare! I can’t wait to see the super talented Liza Koshy rock it as the new host!”
Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell first appeared together on the popular sketch series All That from 1994 to 1998. It was clear the two had chemistry almost immediately, with hilarious sketches “Good Burger,” which inspired a 1997 film of the same name. Eventually, the two even got their own television show titled Kenan & Kel, which ran from 1996 to 2000 (four seasons) and ended with a TV movie.
While the duo drifted apart over the years, with Thompson starring in SNL and Mitchell popping up randomly in supporting roles, they seem to have embraced the fan fair in recent years, appearing on SNL and Nick Cannon’s (another All That veteran) Wild ‘n Out.
Fellow All That alum Lori Beth Denberg will also appear on the Double Dare special, which will air Monday at 8 p.m. ET on Nickelodeon.
