Over the last several months, several streamers have gone overseas to film themselves disrespecting other cultures. Johnny Somali did it in Korea, and he’s now facing years of prison time. Now, another streamer has decided to disrespect Japanese culture by filming the inside of a public restroom. If the invasion of people’s privacy wasn’t enough, he even filmed himself vandalizing the bathroom and being aggressive towards those trying to use it.
The video was filmed by Kick streamer Black Ass Dave who is known for streaming himself in real life while viewers comment. Most recently, he visited Japan to continue his online shtick, but it’s clear that many found the stream to be offensive. In the video, you can see Dave throw toiletries to the ground and even invade the personal space of two Japanese people simply trying to use the urinals.
At several points, he even throws cans at one of the individuals, who looks to be laughing alongside the streamer’s antics. However, considering I have been in similar situations, it’s clear that the man was nervous and couldn’t show it. At one point during the video, you hear the chat telling Dave that he will likely be arrested should officers in Japan catch wind of the stream. Instead of listening, he continues to vandalize the bathroom and film.
“It seems taking malicious advantage of Japanese hospitality has become an entire YouTube genre among a certain demographic. Color me not surprised”
Since the incident, Dave has issued an apology to his Twitter account, those he only has 44 followers. Contrary to the video’s virality, the streamer is very small and only has a following of 2,700 on Kick. More successful streamers typically have hundreds of thousands of followers watching their every move. Hopefully, Black Ass Dave will be apprehended for his actions with this video being used as evidence.
