Kim Kardashian is proving even she could embrace the Japanese look in a kimono during a fun photo session with her kids in Japan amid her ex-husband Kanye West’s Italy backlash. In 2018, Kim made headlines after she famously slammed her sisters for dressing like geishas in matching kimonos during their Japan trip. At the time, the mom-of-four, who couldn’t hide her displeasure after Khloé and Kourtney’s Japanese outfits compromised her Yeezy looks, described them as clowns. She also pointed out that one should only wear the Kimonos during Halloween or in a geisha house.

Five years later, the reality star is chewing her words and in a fun way. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, August 29, Kim Kardashian shared a string of photos from her latest trip to Japan with her kids, rocking a Kimono for the occasion. The snaps featured the 42-year-old dressed as a geisha in a massive bedroom. Most of the photos showed her posing with a mirror behind her.
The reflection of her daughter North Kardashian, and her pals was visible in the mirror, showing them holding up their cameras and ring lights. In one of them, Kim Kardashian in her Kimono assumed a samurai-like pose, but with both hands behind her head. For the others, she posed beside the girls’ mirror reflection assuming various playful poses.
Kim Kardashian also shared pictures of herself lying on a bed, with the sheets matching her Kimono. She arranged a pair of flip-flops beside her on the bed for the photo shoot, which had fans talking. Many called out the SKIMS CEO for having her footwear on a bed, something a true Japanese would never do. Others slammed her for rocking the Kimono herself years after ridiculing her sisters for doing just that.

Meanwhile, several fans came to Kim’s defense, noting that regardless of her previous opinion, she opted to go all out for her kids. They commended Kim Kardashian for being a good mom striving to make her kids’ stay in Japan fun at all costs, even if it meant wearing a Kimono outside “a geisha house.” Praising the reality star, one fan wrote,
