King Charles followed through with those plans on Sunday, attending the Easter service accompanied by Queen Camilla. How the Royals Marked Easter 2024 Amid Health Woes
Since his cancer diagnosis, King Charles has refrained from major public events as part of his recovery process. Hence, his appearance at the Easter Sunday service, which the royals customarily attend annually at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor was uncertain. While he did attend, it certainly wasn’t business as usual. For one, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and their kids were significantly absent from the gathering as Kate Middleton continues to undergo cancer treatment.
Additionally, only a few select members of the royal family attended the Easter service at St. George’s to minimize King Charles’ contact with other people. The King also boycotted the traditional post-service family lunch, leaving the service earlier. Overall, the monarch appeared to enjoy every bit of the public outing, a welcome change from his weeks spent attending to basic royal duties from the confines of his castle while undergoing chemotherapy.
