King Charles may finally be ready to welcome Prince Harry back into the royal family fold. Sources claim that the monarch would like to have his youngest son home in the UK despite the bad blood that has grown between them throughout the years. As many fans already know, Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, opted to exit the firm in 2020. They moved to California, where they raise their two children, Archie and Lillibet. Since their royal exit, Harry has returned to the UK for a few events. However, Meghan and the children have stayed behind the in United States.
Now, it’s being reported that King Charles would love to welcome Prince Harry and his family home. He may not even be opposed to Harry and Meghan returning as working members of the royal family. However, the king would need some major promises from his youngest son before any sort of reconciliation would be possible, per The Mirror.
King Charles and Prince Harry Still Butting Heads Amid Royal Family Rift
“King Charles would love to be closer to Harry and to have a relationship with his son that actually works. But this depends on Harry giving his father cast-iron guarantees that there will be no more books and no more embarrassing interviews,” royal expert Tom Quinn tells the outlet.
Meanwhile, Quinn claims that it may actually be the Duke of Sussex who is holding up a reconciliation with his father. Instead of giving the royals his word to do better, he feels like they should be making more of an effort to make him feel comfortable.
“Harry still feels that he is the victim and that his family need to make promises to him, not the other way round,” the author stated.
Quinn also added that while Harry has mentioned wanting to make amends with his family in the memory of his mother Princess Diana, he’s actually preparing the former Princess of Wales mistakes. “Harry is actually allowing history to repeat itself,” he added.
Many fans would love to see Prince Harry bridge the gap with King Charles, Prince William, and the rest of the royal family. However, there seems to be a lot of pride when it comes to making the first move. Sadly, it’s unclear if the family will ever be able to make amends.
