When it comes to bubbling Silent Hill 2 hype, when talking about a remake or reboot, Konami probably shouldn’t fuel the fire. At least the company shouldn’t do it unless they have something they’d like to let us know.
On Friday, the firm appeared to troll its fans a bit with a tweet. Konami posted a tweet that had the caption, “close your eyes. Always scary. Silent Hill 2 Siren.” Accompanying the post was the sound of that siren.
The tweet got plenty of Konami fans to feel the Silent Hill 2 hype, as they thought Konami was hinting at something. At some point, the firm noticed the hornet’s nest it kicked.
Easy there internet. We were watching streams of Dead By Daylight and thought we would share the noise and feel of being hunted. We wont take the tweet down and "backpedal", we just wanted you to enjoy it.

Just five minutes after the first post, Konami followed it up. The social media account said someoen was just playing Dead by Daylight, which recently incorporated characters from Silent Hill into the game.
Not long after the “easy there Internet,” post, the company attempted to tamp down the Silent Hill 2 hype just a little bit more. A later tweet said if there was any news to share, it would be coming directly from the game’s official social media accounts.
The post went on to say once again, whoever had posted the original tweet was simply reminiscing. It’s possible that’s even the case.
One reason the hype train got rolling like it did is because of persistent rumors surrounding the franchise. Over the last few months, reports have surfaced a reboot or remake is headed to the next generation of consoles. Some rumors pegged it as a PS5 launch title.
Silent Hill 2 Hype Train Left The Station
Unfortunately for fans of the series, nothing has been confirmed. In fact, Konami shot those rumors down.
Despite efforts to tamp down Silent Hill 2 hype, some fans remain skeptical. While some followers on Twitter took the explanation at face value, others still claimed it was a smoke screen.
