According to certain sources, Konami’s Silent Hill currently has multiple projects in development around the world, and the options for this survival horror game could include a remake, a full-on sequel, and a story-focused episodic series. The possibilities really are endless for Silent Hill, so why not do them all – wishful thinking, we know.
It was only last week that a handful of leaked concept images appeared online that looked to confirm a new Silent Hill was either in development or was looking to be very soon. But now, there are a few details being made apparent about what these projects could look like, all of which are hoping to revive the long-forgotten survival horror game.
What could these new projects based on Konami’s Silent Hill be?
There are a variety of things one could do with Konami’s Silent Hill, and according to journalist Jeff Grubb, one of the projects in development could be a remake of the fan-favorite Silent Hill 2 from 2001. It has been claimed that the remake will feature reworked AI, animations, puzzles, and several new endings, with it all possibly leading to a timed PlayStation exclusive.
This is the stuff I've heard, and it comes from multiple different sources. Not all of my sources are primary, but everything is mostly lining up. To me, the biggest indicator is the stuff I've seen lines up with Konami doing a big reveal at E3 last year before it pulled out. https://t.co/GzUb3jzrwX

Blooper Team is another one that has been linked to Konami’s Silent Hill in recent times also. It was only last year that The Medium developers had reached a supposed agreement with Konami, with the CEO of Blooper also claiming that the team was working on an existing horror from “a very famous gaming publisher” – now, if that isn’t giving the game away right there, we don’t know what does. Although, Blooper Hill (who has worked with Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka in the past) is keeping things close to its chest as it stands.
And they aren’t the only developers linked to Konami’s Silent Hill because Supermassive Games (creators of Until Dawn) had been rumored to be interested in working on a series of short stories that would expand the universe. But a new name has popped up in recent times regarding this “series of short stories,” and that was Annapurna Interactive, the publisher behind the Outer Wilds game. However, as it stands, there have been no confirmations of any kind.
And finally, Konami is planning on releasing a new mainline entry in this survival horror game series. It is not clear who will be behind the development, although, it was reported that a Japanese studio was working on a Silent Hill project, so make of that what you will. So, whatever happens with all these projects, it’s looking quite exciting for the future of Konami’s Silent Hill series.
