The latest face of the NBA 2K franchise will be Kyrie Irving a former Rookie of the Year in the NBA. The Cleveland Cavalier point guard, who is making a repeat appearance in the NBA finals against the Goldenstate Warriors, will appear on the cover of NBA 2K18 which releases September 19, 2017. The 2012 Rookie of the Year, 2014 All-Star game MVP, and 2016 NBA Champion was chosen in part for his performance in the 2016 finals, averaging a team-high 27.1 points per game in the Cavalier’s huge upset of the Stephan Curry led Goldenstate Warriors.
“It is well known that I’m an avid player of this series and I am honored to be the cover athlete of NBA 2K18,” said Kyrie Irving, who has his sights set on another ring and is making a run for back-to-back championships. “It’s surreal to be featured on the cover and I can’t wait to dominate on the virtual court with all of my fans this fall.”
