The latest face of theย NBA 2Kย franchise will be Kyrie Irving a former Rookie of the Year in the NBA. ย The Cleveland Cavalier point guard, who is making a repeat appearance in the NBA finals against the Goldenstate Warriors, will appear on the cover of NBA 2K18 which releases September 19, 2017. ย The 2012 Rookie of the Year, 2014 All-Star game MVP, and 2016 NBA Champion was chosen in part for his performance in the 2016 finals, averaging a team-high 27.1 points per game in the Cavalier’s huge upset of the Stephan Curry led Goldenstate Warriors.
“It is well known that I’m an avid player of this series and I am honored to be the cover athlete of NBA 2K18,” said Kyrie Irving, who has his sights set on another ring and is making a run for back-to-back championships. “It’s surreal to be featured on the cover and I can’t wait to dominate on the virtual court with all of my fans this fall.”
