This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

If you want an easy leveling experience in Last Epoch, then the Acolyte takes the cake, especially with its Necromancer subclass or Mastery Class. You just sit back and relax while your corpse corps does all the work. And if you want an even easier time with the grind, we recommend our Acolyte leveling build for Last Epoch so you can get to the Monolith endgame in no time.

The beating heart of the build itself would be the numerous passive trees you have to meticulously min-max in Last Epoch. While we did say it’s an easy and relaxed build, you still need to put in the effort in strategizing. You have to be picky with where to spend your level-up rewards early on since the game can be stingy with respec points below level 80.

Note that this build assumes you’re already past level 60. That is usually the time when the Monolith will start to open up. Some skills might be locked before you get to that point, but feel free to use substitutes.

We’ll start with the Acolyte and Necromancer skill trees.

If you make a mistake with point allocation, just go to a Chronomancer to refund the node. They’re more than happy to take a few coins from you to fix your life decisions.

Active Skill Tree

These are the following skills you’re going to be using:

  • Summon Skeletal Mages
  • Summon Bone Golem
  • Dread Shade
  • Assemble Abomination
  • Summon Volatile Zombie

It’s up to you where to place them in the hot bar based on your comfort. In any case, here’s what you need to take for each Skill. These are level 20 Skills, by the way, and if you’re not at that point yet, feel free to omit some nodes.

It can be costly to make some mistakes with point allocation if your skills aren’t at level 20 yet so try to minimize errors.

Acolyte Leveling Build Gear

Gear is a little more chaotic to achieve since you’re at the mercy of RNG here. And since this is just a leveling build, we won’t recommend anything expensive or build-defining. It also doesn’t matter what weapon you use, but try to get two-handed staves

Still, look for items with the following stats and stat combinations as they will pave the way for a stronger endgame build later on:

  • Resistances (Physical, Elemental, Necrotic, Void, Poison, etc.)
  • Health/Vitality
  • Intelligence
  • Increased Mana Regen
  • Increased Minion Damage
  • Minion Health Regen
  • Minion Melee Damage
  • Minion Spell Damage
  • Movement Speed
  • Critical Strike Chance for Minions

Of course, if you see stats that increase the level of your chosen skills, then use those weapons or try to extract their affixes using the crafting system.

Playstyle? Just summon everything and hide behind them. Okay just kidding, you do need to be mindful of your surroundings since your character is the king in a chess match. Try not to get hit since you’re going to be squishy.

A couple of tips to make gameplay more interactive is in order:

  • Treat Summon Volatile Zombie as some kind of manual attack as they explode on death.
  • Summon everything else, and from time to time, cast Dread Shade on your Abomination as it’s usually your most powerful minion.
  • Don’t hesitate to retreat if you see your minions attacking something that isn’t your priority. This way, you can reset the minion AI and funnel the enemies into a straight line.

From time to time, you might space off and find yourself wondering what if you picked a more active and involved subclass or class. If that happens, just cherish the fact that you won’t get carpal tunnel syndrome with this Acolyte leveling build in Last Epoch.
