The Last of Us, Uncharted 2, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End co-director Bruce Straley has revealed the formation of a brand-new firm named Wildflower Interactive alongside other veterans in the industry. The Last of Us director is the founder and head of the independent game development company Wildflower Interactive.
Wildflower Interactive is a New Studio from The Last of Us Director
Bruce Straley joined Naughty Dog in 1999 and departed in 2017. The brand-new game studio’s website provides information regarding the development team, the studio’s aims, and what gamers might be able to anticipate. Wildflower Interactive aims to advance the industry with original video games and foster a good workplace environment.
“We’re making ‘small-ish,’ creatively-charged, uniquely-stylized games that explore the possibilities of our medium. And we’re building a small, open-hearted team of creators that want to improve their skills and still lead a good life outside of work,” explains the website. “People that want to hone their craft, have a say in the process, feel respected for their contributions, and be a part of the evolution of this awesome medium.”
The director of Wildflower is Bruce Straley; on the other hand, his staff is highly experienced. Members of the development team have worked on games like Abzu, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Astroneer, Call of Duty, and The Pathless, in addition to having experience making games like Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us. Wildflower looks like a younger version of Naughty Dog. Also, as it gets closer to showcasing its capabilities to gamers, Wildflower is presently searching for more positions.
According to Straley, Wildflower is “inclusive, equitable, and collaborative, full of big-hearted people who want to grow both professionally and personally.” It’s good to see Straley address work culture right now because the video game business is notorious for its unfavorable working circumstances. We know that Naughty Dog had significant issues like repression in the past.
