Law Firm Slammed by Texas Attorney For Not Answering Client: ‘When You Need an Attorney to Deal with Your Attorney’

And I’m sure they were paid so much money

I’m so glad I’ve never had to deal with the entanglement of legal battles because, let’s be honest, they can be exhausting. What’s even worse is if something within the process is at a halt, stopping literally everyone, especially the client, from moving forward. A Texas attorney had to set an opposing law firm straight when a pair of clients tried to hire him because the others wouldn’t communicate with them. The nerve of some businesses.

The aforementioned Texas attorney is Alberto Ruiz, who posted the above video to his TikTok account, showing him attempting to communicate with a law firm. According to two people seated across from him, another law firm hasn’t communicated with them in a long time, forcing their case from a year ago to be extended. As a result, they went to Ruiz to try and file a bar complaint against the other law firm.

To avoid a lawsuit against another law firm, Ruiz called up the accused to try and see what was going on. However, when the automated answering machine prompted him to select a number option for existing clients, he was met with the very problem the clients were talking about. He wasn’t able to get through to anyone, no matter how many times he tried.

When he called again and pressed a different number option for new clients, the phone was answered after the first ring. Ruiz took this opportunity to ask the person who answered if he could speak with the person who was in charge of the case for the client in front of them. After various call transfers, Ruiz still wasn’t able to get a straight answer from anyone, and his annoyance at the situation was obvious.

Commentators both found the situation hilarious and completely baffling, with many people condemning the other law firm for their actions. Many of the comments are something along the lines of “The fact that they answered immediately for a new client! 🚩THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!!!” The irony of the whole situation was definitely not lost on other viewers, with one of my favorite comments saying, “When you need to get an attorney to deal with your attorney. 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩“

It’s encouraging to see a lawyer go the extra mile to assist someone who is not even their client during a difficult time. The men in the video facing the legal issue seem to be older, and the other law firm’s neglect may stem from the assumption that they won’t take action.
