An upset mother in Maryland is claiming that a container of infant formula she purchased from a Walmart location was allegedly filled with flour. The woman, who said she bought the formula from a Walmart in Nottingham near Towson, shared a TikTok video explaining that she didn’t realize the product had been tampered with initially because the seal appeared intact at first glance. She also said she has never experienced such a situation before and therefore never felt the need to be cautious.

The woman alleged that someone, likely a parent, may have replaced the contents with flour and returned the product, which was then allegedly placed back on the shelf. To demonstrate her concern, she compared the suspicious formula with another container she said she purchased earlier. She scooped powder from both and showed viewers how one appeared thinner and more powdery, while the other looked thicker and smelled like flour.

She then conducted another test on camera, pouring some of the questionable powder into a cup that previously contained coffee and adding a small amount of water. After stirring it with a straw, the mixture thickened noticeably, which she said further convinced her that the substance was not genuine infant formula.

The mother said she was alarmed by the realization, noting that she could have unknowingly fed the mixture to her child. She also claimed that when she attempted to return the product to a different Walmart location, an employee allegedly told her that infant formula is not supposed to be accepted back and that she would need to contact the original store where the purchase was made.

Public Reactions To The Maryland Mom’s Discovery

In her comments, many viewers reacted with outrage and questioned how a returned formula container could have been restocked without thorough inspection. One person wrote, “I’m livid with you this is insane I’m so sorry. wtf is wrong with people.” Another said, “THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO PUT FORMULA – SEALED OR NOT – BACK ON THE SHELVES!”

Several also wondered what might have happened if she hadn’t noticed or if the substance had been something more harmful. “The worst part is it could’ve been ANYTHING instead of just flour,” one netizen commented. Someone else added, “What if you were extra tired, what if you were new to using formula, there are so many what ifs. This could’ve gone REALLY badly. I hope you sue.”

The woman later provided an update saying that she has gotten in contact with the FDA and Walmart and that the footage would be reviewed to determine how the mix-up happened in the first place. She also said she would be pursuing legal action against those involved.
