Amazon seems to be on a roll with hiring subpar workers for its delivery service. One particular Flex Driver in Texas was delivering packages out in the rain but decided to stop halfway while walking up a driveway. Instead of placing the box near the door under the covered porch, the man simply left the parcel in the middle of the driveway and left. Soaking wet cardboard is an absolute pain to deal with, not to mention the contents inside the box might have been damaged by this Amazon driver’s carelessness.
“Out of all the deliveries I’ve gotten, this one takes the soggy cake,” the receiver of the Amazon package complained on r/AmazonFlexDrivers. They continue, saying how the deliveryman avoided walking an extra five feet to the covered door and instead “dropped the package dead center in the driveway.” Jokingly, OP said the man placed it down as if it were “a tribute to the weather gods,” seeing how it was clearly a bad idea to leave out a cardboard box in the rain. “Lazy? Nah, this was elite-level avoidance,” they concluded.
“That’s pathetic. He needs a new job. I hope every house he does this to reports him,” angrily notes a commenter. Another chimed in, saying that the driver probably treats every job he will have this way. Other people pointed out how there were no “No Trespassing” signs or “Beware of Dog” to keep the man away from the front door. Not to mention, it was absurd how the driver parked his car in the middle of the road before going out to drop off the box. Very unprofessional, to say the least.
“These type of flexers need to be fired,” another person remarked. Of course, saying someone should be fired for a single mistake is extreme. However, the fact that he made so many clear and intentional mistakes during just one delivery shows what poor ethic he has, as well as how little he cares about his job. He proved to the internet in a short, 54-second video that he’s lazy, careless, inconsiderate, and clearly insensitive to the receiver of the package.
