While Turtle Rock Studios, the team behind Evolve and the Left 4 Dead franchise, may or may not be any closer to making the next Left 4 Dead, they are working on a new project from “a globally known game franchise.” The rumors began to spread when Turtle Rock began to post a plethora of openings for programmers, artists, designers, and producers.
Their newest job posting is for a Senior Level Designer, and it gives fans a small insight into what the new game might be like:
Looking to work on a globally known game franchise? Join our exceptional development team as a Senior Level Designer on an unannounced AAA title. Do you love creating awesome level layouts and designing fun encounters? Do you enjoy watching people play through your levels and collaborating to make them even better? The job will require working closely with artists, engineers, and other designers to create awesome content.
From the descriptions in the numerous job postings, fans can expect a game similar to the ones they have created in the past. We can assume it will be a multiplayer experience, like Evolve and the Left 4 Dead franchise, because of desire for “competitive and balanced map layouts.” They are also looking for “experience working with modern FPS engines,” like Unreal 4.
In 2016, Turtle Rock Studios announced they were working on a new independent project set in a new universe. With the sudden job posting for this, one can only wonder if the project from a few years back has been scrapped. Regardless, fans of the Left 4 Dead series, Evolve, or multi-player FPS’ should keep their eye on Turtle Rock Studios to see what this mysterious project might be.
