Leonardo DiCaprio faces the heat after a viral video shows him ignoring a Fijian choir at a hotel in an apparent snub. The Don’t Look Up star recently made headlines for his seemingly snobbish behavior while exiting a hotel, seemingly oblivious to the choir performing by the side to bid him farewell. The video shared on TikTok showed the actor strolling through the lobby in his usual all-black ensemble comprising black pants and a matching jacket swung over a white round-neck t-shirt. He also had on a black baseball hat and sunglasses, clearly trying to conceal his identity.
At the start of the clip, the icon had a brief interaction with a woman, before taking out his phone and appearing to take a phone call. As he strolled towards an awaiting vehicle right outside the lobby, he passed by several guests holding out their phones to get a shot of him. However, the actor, who graced the hotel with his girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, paid no heed to the guests and the performing choir as he spoke into the receiver.
Actor Slammed for Disrespectful Hotel Snub
Netizens have since condemned Leonardo DiCaprio for “faking” the phone call as an excuse to snub the hotel choir, deeming it disrespectful. They took to social media to slam the star, labeling him “proud,” “hypocritical” and a snob. Reacting to the 50-year-old’s actions, one critic fired,
“Being humble is key to success.”
Another criticized,
“Ohhh, what a snob. At least he should have acknowledged the welcome by our country. No place like Fiji.”
A third angry fan remarked,
“Leonardo, you so bad. Respect the one who appreciates you in their own nation.”
A fourth fan accused the actor of “not caring about anything,” describing him as a hypocrite, while another commenter rebuked Leonardo for being ill-mannered and “too spoiled.”
Fans Defend Leonardo DiCaprio Following Choir Snub
Amid the barrage of criticism, some fans stood on the other side of the camp, defending Leonardo DiCaprio’s supposed hotel snub. His supporters pointed out that the actor clearly sought privacy, as evidenced by his outfit choice. Hence, the hotel’s move to catch him off guard was insensitive of them and unprofessional. One fan pointed out,
“He didnโt ask for a choir. He wants to be left alone like any of us. Ainโt no one singing us a choir leaving or arriving at a hotel.”
A second TikTok user defended him saying,
“I mean I can’t imagine they do this to every guest..maybe they should realise he paid to use a business and maybe like some privacy… not sure this is professional to draw more attention to someone.”

Sources familiar with the actor also defended his actions while speaking to a news outlet, noting that he meant no intentional slight to the hotel. They described him as “very kind” going by their past interactions with the actor. Hence, Leonardo DiCaprio’s supposed snub just might be his bid for privacy after falling victim to an ill-concoted surprise welcome.
