No matter the currency, you need a small fortune to buy everything you’ll need in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. If all you want to do is clear the main story, you can probably get by without any special effort. If you want to get all of the end-game weapons, armor, and other items, however, you’ll need to perfect your money-making methods in Japan as well as Hawaii. The good news is Infinite Wealth is a massive game even by Yakuza standards, featuring several viable ways to fill your coffers. Here’s how to make money fast in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
Fighting
Beating up street thugs isn’t glamorous, but it pays the bills in ways that Shogi doesn’t. Every time you take down some of the enemies you find wandering around the city, you’ll be rewarded with cash as well as EXP. Fighting is one of the best money-making methods in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, but only in the first few chapters when you don’t have other good options. It’s quick, easy, and will also help you learn the ropes of the various Jobs and movesets, giving you more than one reason to put the knuckles to some thugs.
Scavenging for Plates
Kasuga isn’t about scrounging for diamonds in the rough. He’s also fine with scrounging around in the city’s trash for discarded valuables. By interacting with the glowing yellow circles on the ground, you can find various discarded items, including Plates. There are several varieties of Plates in the game. While Paper Plates are worth a measly $0.10, Silver Plates are worth $100. That’s a solid payout for the early to mid-game, at least considering how little time and effort it takes to grab them off the ground. You never know what you’ll find, so get digging.
Sujimon Battles
One of the best things about Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is how much it has going on despite just fighting and money-making. Not only are there are ton of systems in the game, but many of them feed off one another. Sujimon Battles, introduced in Chapter 4, allow you to pit your team of captured Sujimon against other trainers. Beating Sujimon trainers can pay handsomely, although the better the reward, the tougher the trainer will be. Sujimon battles are a fantastic way to grind money in the mid-game if you’re looking to make some money fast.
Fishing
After unlocking Dondoko Island in Chapter 6 you can start rehabilitating and renovating the island. With time and patience, it can make you a ton of money, but even when the island is still covered with trash and has no guests, you can still make good money there. By visiting the docks you can fish, and although not every sea creature pays well, there are a few (such as the Golden Shark) that reward you handsomely for your efforts. Fishing is a fun minigame and pays off quickly, making it easy to recommend.
Dondoko Island
The best money-making method in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is Dondoko Island. After gaining access to this dilapidated resort in Chapter 6, you’ll begin the process of fixing it up. Improving its condition means getting better guests, which in turn means Dondoko will turn a greater profit. If you’re aiming to get your hands on the best end-game loot for your party, there’s no substitute for grinding the island’s development. Fortunately, Dondoko is fun and the closest thing Infinite Wealth has to Animal Crossing. Who would’ve thought such a fusion of gameplay styles would work so well, eh?
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
