A state trooper from Virginia was recently caught on camera saving the life of a driver trapped in a burning car. This act of bravery quickly went viral online, and the Virginia trooper was lauded as a hero by many viewers.
The footage was originally recorded by the state trooper himself, who had a camera in his car, and was later shared by the Virginia State Police on Facebook. After surfacing online, it was picked up by accounts that compile viral stories, such as Daily Loud on X.
The video showcases the brave actions of the state trooper, who can be seen pulling a seemingly injured man out of a burning car after an accident sent the vehicle off the road. Mere seconds after he manages to do so, the vehicle is engulfed in flames. He then tries to help the man get up and ends up carrying him when it becomes clear that he cannot do it by himself.
According to the Virginia State Police, the trooper was identified as S. Baker, and the incident happened on Low Ground Road near Emporia, Virginia. After the incident, the driver was evaluated and later transported back to his home.
