The drama between Lily Allen and David Harbour continues. This week, the British singer appeared to shade her estranged husband during a new episode of her Miss Me? podcast. Allen was discussing ageing when she made a comment about older men preferring “young dumb, women.” This comes just shortly after news broke that Harbour reportedly had an affair with a model half his age. While fans think she has every right to call out Harbour for allegedly cheating, they criticized her for putting down young women in the process.
Inside Lilly Allen and David Harbour’s Messy Split
Lily Allen told her Miss Me? co-host Miquita Oliver that she’s made an interesting observation about older men. “They seem to like them young, don’t they?” she asked. Oliver remarked that it’s not that “simple.” However, Allen disagreed, saying, “I think you’ll find it is!”
She said that men don’t go for women their age or older because of their intelligence. Since they have more relationship experience, Allen thinks men are convinced they’re harder to fool and as a result, they can easily see their “unattractiveness.” However, according to the singer, men hope women with less experience can’t immediately see their red flags, which is why they prefer “young, dumb women.”
Allen may have convinced Oliver because her co-host chimed in with a personal anecdote to try and further prove her point. Oliver revealed that the pair recently went on a trip to Kenya, where they found themselves “flirting” with 65-year-old men. While the co-hosts were able to catch their attention, Allen joked the men would likely prefer women younger than them. “They will still leave you for a 20-year-old!” Allen said. “Don’t get it twisted.”
Behind Those David Harbour Affair Rumors
Lily Allen didn’t explicitly mention David Harbour in her podcast episode. However, fans are convinced she referenced him due to recent rumors of him dating younger women.
The first rumor spread back in February when the Daily Mail reported the 49-year-old actor has been seeing the aspiring model and actress Ellie Fallon. She’s 27, making her 22 years younger than Harbour. Although news of them dating is just coming out now, the pair has supposedly been together for months.
A source told the publication that Allen even believes that Harbour and Fallon had an affair. Her suspicions supposedly stem from a picture Fallon posted online that shows her smoking one of Harbour’s favorite cigars. Since it was shared weeks before Allen and Harbour split, she thinks her husband was secretly talking to the model during their marriage.
Most recently, Harbour has also been accused of having a three-year affair with a “younger costume designer,” who he supposedly met on a movie set. Rumor has it Harbour frequently met up with the designer while filming Stranger Things last year.
Due to all of the rumors surrounding her estranged estranged husband, fans can’t blame Lily Allen for shading Harbour. However, they wish she did so without talking bad about women. “She could have made her point without being sexist against other women,” one person said. “No need to call young women dumb just because you got cheated on,” another wrote. “Be mad at him. I hate it when women get mad at other women for something a man does. You can call him dumb,” someone else added.
Lily Allen and David Harbour seemingly broke up in December 2024 after four years of marriage.
