Just one week before the Golden Globes, Chalamet openly praised Jenner while accepting his Critics’ Choice Award. “Thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for your foundation, I love you,” he said, adding, “I couldn’t do this without you.” Jenner appeared emotional as she watched from the audience.
The tone shifted days later at the Golden Globes. Per DailyMail, Chalamet arrived solo on the red carpet, while Jenner shared photos of her gold sequin dress online. Inside the venue, lip reader Nicola Hickling claimed to have deciphered a tense exchange as the couple took their seats.
According to Hickling, Chalamet allegedly said, “You must hate me.” Jenner reportedly replied, “Yes,” before he asked, “Were you worried?” She then answered, “It was a bold yes.”
As the interaction continued, the lip reader claimed Chalamet told Jenner, “You look bothered,” while taking a seat, prompting her alleged response: “Not here. You’re annoying.”
Despite the chatter, Chalamet’s night remained a professional triumph. Accepting Best Actor for Marty Supreme, he told director Josh Safdie, “Thank you for this role. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for this portrait, for your mind, for your world view.” He ended his speech more briefly than before: “To my parents and partner, I love you. Thank you so much.”

Commenters pointed out multiple videos and photos from the same night, showing the couple kissing in identical outfits, which suggests affection rather than friction. Some accused outlets of manufacturing drama for clicks, sharing images as proof that the pair appeared very much united. According to one commenter:
