Lisa Hochstein Talks Divorce And RHOM Season 5’s Viral Moments

Much to her consternation, Lisa Hochstein’s divorce played out on national TV. What’s worse is that the reality star has to rewatch it all over in RHOM Season 5. Lisa recently got talking about her divorce and the secrets that came out behind the cameras. Find out what she said. 

RHOM’s Lisa Hochstein Opens Up About Divorce 

Lisa Hochstein’s divorce hurt her but not as much as rewatching her marriage’s end on the Real Housewives of Miami show. 

“I’m laughing now, but I’m crying inside,” she told Bustle of her experience. “It was hard enough to deal with it in real-time and then having to relive it all over again… it’s [like] the scariest roller coaster at Disneyland.” 

When asked how she got the strength to be vulnerable on camera, Lisa said she didn’t know. The media personality revealed that she tried not to show what was happening to her online. She added that she was fine but could be better, and it would take some time. 

Lisa divulged that she wanted to quit RHOM when the news came out but felt obligated to stay. The model said she couldn’t leave her job midway, plus many people said they admired her strength. 

The activist also talked about her relationship with her mother-in-law, stating they are not so close anymore. Lisa said Marina decided to support Lenny so she could continue to see her grandkids and that she understood her. 

Lisa was already filming RHOM Season 5 when her husband, plastic surgeon Lenny Hochstein, filed for divorce in May 2022. Lenny also asked her to move out of their Star Island mansion. 

Around the same time, he had already moved on with his new girlfriend, Katharina Mazepa. However, filming continued, and Lisa’s fellow Housewives rallied around her.

The cameras showed Lisa grasping her new reality, including attempts to save her marriage, a move she now regrets. 

“Me almost wanting to be back with this man and saying how much I loved him is heartbreaking considering the things that were happening behind the scenes that I didn’t know,” she told the news outlet.

Aside from talking about her marriage and divorce, Lisa laughed about her co-star’s viral moments. She talked about her take on Nicole’s mirror invitation to Larsa, saying she considered it “very ballsy” for Nicole. 

“I did not think Nicole had that kind of feistiness within her. It was a funny moment. Larsa was even taken aback, and it’s not like Larsa gets shocked easily,” she said. 

The mom of one also predicted that people would use it to disinvite others in the future. 

The fitness guru also disagreed with Julia Lemigova calling Alexia Nepola a barracuda. Lisa called Alexia a stunning woman who looks like Barbie.

Although Lisa Hochstein’s divorce was painful, especially as it served as news fodder, the 40-year-old is getting better. Hopefully, she will heal fully and can one day rewatch RHOM Season 5 without pain.
