It’s almost 2025 and we are still shaming women for the way that they look? Lizzo discovered the ugly side of fame and posting on social media recently when she received comments about her appearance, and while she is looking gorgeous and the confidence in herself after her body transformation has been something to admire, not everyone agrees.
The “Truth Hurts” singer clearly felt good about herself recently when she took to Instagram to share a photo of herself looking incredible in an orange dress. She posed for two selfies that gave her 11.7 million followers a better look at the dress, and also a short video clip that gave a close-up look at her makeup, which was perfect.
Lizzo Knows Just How To Turn Heads
Lizzo shared her thoughts in the caption, writing, “Yall wasn’t the only ones eating yesterday.” Fans have reacted to the post, and while many people have celebrated her hotness with comments like “Love this dress! Beautiful,” and “Looking like a sexy tangerine.”
But there was also a negative comment that stood out, from a fan who was angry about how Lizzo has changed her body. “You never really loved urself..I knew it …p s ur no longer glowing with love,” the comment reads.
It is no secret that Lizzo has lost a lot of weight recently, which has been credited to weight loss drug, Ozempic (although the star has denied these rumors). Instead, she has spoken about her weight loss journey, informing fans on TikTok that she had changed her diet. “After tests and research, I found that animal proteins helped me have more energy, lose weight and helped with my mental fog,” she said. “This is the diet that’s helped me reach my goals and helped me feel good in my body.” She has claimed that the change in her body is the result of hard work, not Ozempic, which many other celebrities have used. Instead, it is a combination of working out and consuming less calories.
Lizzo has always been an advocate for body positivity. In 2020, she spoke about her feelings on the topic and how she wanted inclusivity. “I think it’s lazy for me to just say I’m body positive at this point,” Lizzo told Vogue. “It’s easy. I would like to be body-normative. I want to normalize my body.” She also stressed that the term should be used to represent a wider range of bodies, including women with back fat, clothing sizes 18 and up, and “girls with bellies that hang.“
Feeling good about herself and feeling stronger and healthier is what is important, no matter what size she is.
