League of Legends, along with its most recently-developed permanent game mode, Teamfight Tactics, are both incredibly popular games. However, because of their reliance on a solid PC, both games can be tough to slot into a gamer’s every day. But this has not gone unnoticed! During the League of Legends 10th anniversary live stream, Riot Games made a groundbreaking announcement. Both LoL and TFT will be released as mobile games in early 2020!

Teamfight Tactics

Starting with TFT! A mobile release is a very natural next step for this particular title. Since its release earlier this year, this alternate game mode has rivaled the main game in popularity. Quite an impressive feat! Because nature, mechanics, and graphics of TFT are much simpler than League‘s, a mobile release is both easy and smart. In order to allow players more freedom regarding where and when they slide a game into their schedule, Riot is working on porting TFT onto the mobile platform. The mobile version is set to go live in early 2020, and will feature full cross-platform compatibility between phone and PC!

League of Legends: Wild Rift

Now, onto the tricky bit. LoL is far more complex than TFT, in just about every conceivable way. Therefore, this title’s jump to other platforms is a fair bit more complicated. That said, Riot is committed to mobile versions of both LoL and TFT. They have decided that taking traditional League and slapping it on a phone wasn’t going to work. In lieu of this, a brand new version of the game is being developed! League of Legends: Wild Rift will feature shorter matches and updated game mechanics. This redesign has also given Riot an opportunity to completely update League‘s older champions, resulting in some amazing in-game models!

This redesign looks absolutely, incredibly clean! Stay on the lookout for more news about the mobile versions of both LoL and TFT!
