Mortal Kombat 1: Chaos Reigns Story DLC Release Date
The Chaos Reigns story DLC of Mortal Kombat 1 launches on September 24, 2024. In year 2 of Mortal Kombat 1, we’re introduced to Kombat Pack 2, dropping 6 new characters later in the game. The Kombat Pack 2 is a part of the Chaos Reigns bundle, so if you purchase that for the story missions, you’ll also receive the new characters.
Mortal Kombat 1: Chaos Reigns Kombat Pack 2 is set to release on the same date as the story DLC, which would be on September 24, 2024. However, only the MK-related characters will be available at launch. The guest fighters will probably get released in later seasons coming in late 2024 and 2025.
Animality Free Update
Mortal Kombat 1: Chaos Reigns DLC also features a new set of finishers for our beloved kombatants called “Animality.” This will turn the characters into an animal, tearing the opponent apart in a new fashion of fatality. The Animality finisher move was first introduced back in 1995 with Mortal Kombat 3, and it’s so good to see it return featuring a fresh and unique special move for every character.
Mortal Kombat 1: Chaos Reigns Trailer Breakdown
The new trailer for Mortal Kombat 1: Chaos Reigns begins with Lord Havik stepping into a realm that looks very much like a void between the timelines. This is the Titan Havik that wanted blood by the end of the main story, and now he’s back with full power, utilizing six marks on his chest that look a lot like Marvel’s Infinity Stones. There’s also a shot of many Havik variants cheering their Lord in a scene like Council of Kangs from Marvel Comics.
Now what’s intriguing in the next shot is that Sektor and Cyrax are now the female variants of the characters in Fire God Liu Kang’s timeline. And more importantly, they’re not turned into cyborgs like how the Cyber Lin Kuei used to operate. They’re just humans in Iron Man-looking suits.
These two Lin Kuei warriors are confirmed to join the main characters of Mortal Kombat 1 in Chaos Reigns Kombat Pack 2 DLC. Plus, there’s one more non-guest kombatant to heat up the battle in the next chapter of MK1, and that is Bi Han; not the Sub-Zero Bi Han, but the Noob Saibot version of him.
As it turns out, Havik captured Bi Han after he left his brother and the guidance of Liu Kang. In a few shots, we see Bi Han attached to a surface, while Havik tries to fuse some sort of power with him. In the end, it’s Noob Saibot’s return people, cheers.
