Lords of the Fallen features some fun bosses that’ll put your build to the test, even during the game’s first hours. One of the foes you’ll encounter in Axiom’s first areas is Scourged Sister Delyth. While at first, it seems she isn’t too eager to attack you, don’t let that fool you, as she packs a punch and can take you down easily. If you’re struggling to progress through this fight and can’t wait to see what else is in the game, we’ve prepared a guide to show you how to defeat Scourged Sister Delyth in Lords of the Fallen.

Contrary to other Soulslikes, this game’s difficulty spike ramps up slowly, meaning Scourged Sister Delyth won’t be as challenging as some late-game bosses. However, it is still important to figure out how to beat her. Before we delve into tactics, here’s some of her moveset:

  • First Phase
    • Kick Attack: Fast kick that staggers the player for a bit.
    • 2-hit combo: A slow 2-hit combo with her flail.
    • 3-hit combo: A slow 3-hit combo with a delay on the last hit.
  • Second Phase (50% HP)
    • Infused Flail: The boss infuses her flail with holy power.
    • Rush attack: The boss rushes at the player and delivers a 2-hit attack. The last attack has the boss leap into the air and smash her flair, doing a lot of damage.
    • Vortex: The boss hurls a vortex of blood that explodes after a while with holy energy.

Strategy

The easiest way to beat Scourged Sister Delyth in Lords of the Fallen is by parrying her attacks, or if you want to cheese this fight, use the soulflay mechanic. Here are the steps we recommend taking when facing her:

  1. Find her protection ward in the Umbral realm and destroy it.
  2. Wait for her to finish her combos and hit her a few times. If possible, add poison or fire to your weapons.
  3. After her 3-hit combo, she’ll slow down for a bit. Use the soulflay mechanic to do wither damage.
  4. For the second phase, get behind her as soon as she hurls the vortex and attack her.
  5. If you’re in the Umbral realm, look for the red blisters and destroy them when the boss is near them. They’ll explode and cause damage. Stay away from them, though.

For the second, or technically speaking, third boss of the game, we didn’t feel it was too challenging. It is a great fight that teaches players more about status effects and uses the blister mechanic from the Umbral realm perfectly, something you’ll see in late-game boss fights. Overall, it’s a great encounter to let players dip their toes in some of the game’s most intricate mechanics.

That wraps up our guide on defeating Scourged Sister Delyth in Lords of the Fallen. As you can see, it isn’t one of the most challenging fights in the game, but you still need some careful planning and strategizing. However, you can bring a friend to make things easier. Speaking of which, here’s a video from our team that showcases how co-op works in the game.
