People often say that police officers are above the law. While many say it jokingly, the truth of the matter is that some cops feel they are. One example that showcases this happened not long ago in Los Angeles, California, where two police officers were spotted peeing in public. As you know, this is an offense. People who have done this before have received punishment. Yet, it seems that these particular police officers think they can do it just because they are on the “right” side of the law.
A Redditor shared a video on the Los Angeles subreddit, which showed two police officers peeing in public. Or, well, at least one of them is actually peeing; it’s uncertain why the other one was there. Regardless, this is something that will get people in trouble, and with good reason. While there aren’t any laws saying public urination is an actual crime (in Los Angeles, at least), doing so can lead to fines for public nuisance, indecent exposure, among others. And in some cases, some can serve jail time.
The ironic thing here is that, allegedly, police officers should be the ones setting the example. Seeing Los Angeles’ finest peeing in public is the complete opposite and makes people wonder why they are doing this in the first place.
“I have a buddy who got put on the s*x offender’s list for that. Indecent exposure.” – bananachowski via Reddit.
In an unexpected turn of events, some Redditors are somewhat justifying this occurrence with statements such as the following:
“They probably don’t get pee breaks… since they don’t give beds or food and water to the National Guard they brought in.” – PackageHot1219 via Reddit.
It is uncertain if the above statement is true. However, even if it is, that doesn’t suddenly make peeing in public okay. Many places have restrooms, and these two officers could’ve looked for one instead of doing it out in the open.
Ultimately, most people wonder if these officers will get some sort of punishment. As we know, doing this sort of thing in public is forbidden, and cops usually enforce the rules to prevent it from happening. So, do they get a pass just for being with the LAPD, or will the department do something about it?
